Sesame-crusted tuna
Adriatic tuna seared rare in a sesame crust, served pink over grilled vegetables with a balsamic reduction — the one people come back for.

A Mediterranean table in the heart of old Pula.
Fresh fish and seafood, homemade pasta and Istrian steaks — served under the awnings on Kapitolinski trg, a few steps from the Forum and the sea.
The place
Piazza Nove sits on Kapitolinski trg, one of Pula's quieter old squares — central enough to feel the pulse of the town, tucked away enough to hear yourself talk. Red awnings, worn stone, a handful of tables beneath the Roman wall, and the harbour a short walk downhill.
The cooking is honest Mediterranean: whatever the Adriatic landed that morning, good Istrian oil and produce, pasta rolled in-house, and a wine list that leans on local growers. Come for a long lunch in the shade or a slow dinner as the square lights up.

Authentic food & wine
The menu turns with the market and the season. A few plates the regulars won't let us take off:

Adriatic tuna seared rare in a sesame crust, served pink over grilled vegetables with a balsamic reduction — the one people come back for.

Homemade tagliatelle with the day's catch — clams, mussels and scampi, and when it's in, a whole Adriatic lobster tangled through the pasta.

A tender chargrilled fillet with grilled seasonal vegetables and a light jus — for the table that came for meat, not fish.
Begin with a homemade tartare or a board of Istrian bruschetta, and ask about the fresh fish of the day and the pizza from the oven.
Authentic food & wine — nothing more, nothing less.

You'll find us on Kapitolinski trg, beside the old Roman temple and a two-minute walk from the Forum. A terrace in the sun, a cool room inside — open every day, lunch right through to dinner. Look for the dark-red parasols against the old stone.
